Immigration Requirements
We request that you check with your airlines or the embassy or consulate of Malaysia in your area about visa requirements. Travelers requiring an entry visa are advised to apply early for it, since it may take a week or more to obtain it.

Malaysian Standard Time (MST) , uniform throughout the country, is 8 hours ahead of GMT.
Currency Exchange
Exchange of certain currencies may be limited. It is recommended to bring US dollars or to convert currency directly to Malaysian R inggit (MYR) in your home country or at the airport at which you enter Malaysia. The current exchange rate is approximately $1= MYR 3.50. Banks are open from Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 4pm and selected banks are open on Saturday from 9.30am to 11.30am except on the first and third Saturdays of each month. All major Credit Cards such as VISA, Master Card, JCB and American Express are widely accepted at hotels, department stores, shops, restaurants and other places of entertainment.
Electricity
Electricity service throughout Malaysia is 220 volts, 50Hz. The plugs used in Malaysia have UK-style three straight pins. Participants are advised to check the voltage before using appliances. Some participants may need to bring converters or adapters.
Weather
Malaysia has an equatorial climate with uniform temperatures throughout the year. Temperatures range from 32°C during the day to 22°C at night.
